Construction Team Lead (Street Lighting)
- Support the direct supervisor daily with coordination, monitoring, construction planning and schedule execution
- Use a variety of vehicles and equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, skid steer, and mini excavator as well as a variety of hand, power, electrical testing, and and equipment.
- Coordinate, conduct and complete competency assessment training for all new employees on the crew and knowledge checks for existing members of the crew
- Assist with mentoring, training, and coaching new staff to ensure success in their roles and that they gain the knowledge and skills required to advance
- Assist with project site conditions including cleanliness, operations, safety, and sequencing of work
- Assist with incident investigations or complaints and preparation of reports
- Assist with periodical field inspections of projects both prior to and during construction to determine compliance with approved plans and regulations at the request of inspectors
- Ensure efficient use of labour, machines and materials used by the crew.
- Ensure compliance with the Can-Traffic Services Ltd. health and safety training and reporting requirements.
- Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to be adaptable, manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control and engineering drawings
- Ability to identify potential risks, determine root cause, develop actionable solutions to meet project milestones and budget requirements.
- Experience in developing and mentoring teams.
- Demonstrated organization skills.
- Analysis, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Combination of work experience and/or technical training in an industry-related trade certification/education program with 2 years of related construction experience.
- Valid Alberta Class 5 (non GDL) driver’s license and submission of a 5-year Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits
- Journeyman Electrician is an asset.
- Project Management Certificate is an asset.
- Class 3Q is an asset.

- Work alongside our experienced technicians to assist in the maintenance and repair of traffic signals, street lights, and other roadside infrastructure.
- Operate tools and equipment under the guidance and supervision of senior team members. This includes hand tools, power tools, and potentially larger machinery depending on your training and experience
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines at all times, ensuring your safety and the safety of your team members and the public
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This includes removing debris, organizing materials, and ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks

Heavy Equipment Technician (HET)
- Inspect, identify, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and modify systems, components, accessories and attachments.
- Checking for wear/damage/ defects/ problems, analyzing performance and function, servicing, replacing, reprogramming, reconditioning, exchanging, adjusting, replacing and aligning
- Following PM programs for Servicing/Oil Sampling/A, B, C Inspection/CVIP and complete the appropriate paperwork associated with each
- Assist with coordination, scheduling, and auditing vehicle maintenance repairs to include preventative, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repair to trucks, trailers, and other equipment
- Work on multiple systems such as: engines, fuel systems, electrical, suspension, hydraulics, transmissions, climate control systems, emission systems, Steering, Brakes, drive lines, structural components, frames, light undercarriages as well as ground engaging equipment.
- Perform/Assist with CVIP inspections/repairs on required equipment.
- Ensure coordination of required parts are pre-ordered/ordered for daily and weekend repairs
- Perform inspections, prepare reports, work orders and checklists with accuracy on each vehicle and piece of equipment inspected or repaired to assist with PM/Maintenance program accuracy
- Displays accountability/Integrity when providing responsible leadership to apprentices in the completion of assignments on a day-to-day operational basis while meeting workload and safety requirements
- Mentors, trains, and coaches’ apprentices
- Periodically be required to receive off duty phone calls to assist mechanical staff in trouble shooting equipment down
- May be required to do local field calls during regular workday hours
- Ensure quality, compliance, and safety of company’s assets
- Other duties as assigned.
