Can-Traffic electricians assist with the installation, maintenance and repair of traffic signal systems, subsystems, pedestrian crossovers, street lighting, flashing beacons and other traffic electrical devices. To thrive in this role you, you must have electrical knowledge, related experience, a willingness to learn, and a great attitude. Requires frequent out of town, short term assignments. What you will do Everyday
- Install, maintain and repair street lighting, subsystems, pedestrian crossovers, flashing beacons, traffic signal systems and other traffic electrical devices
- Use a variety of vehicles and equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, skid steer, and mini excavator as well as a variety of hand, power, electrical testing, and and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records, including material inventory and diaries of daily activities
- Maintain, inspect, and clean vehicles and equipment
- Assist with designing and implementing maintenance procedures
- Ensure quality, compliance, and safety of company’s assets
Skills Required
- Strong time management and organizational skills with an ability to be adaptable, manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic cabinets and roadway lighting
- Ability to perform physical labour as part of the job duties
- Ability to work in inclement weather conditions
- Ability to workdays/nights/weekends or out of town if necessary
- Strong computer skills
Qualifications Needed
- Valid Apprentice/Journeyman Electrician Certification
- Valid Alberta Class 3Q driver’s license and submission of a 5-year Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits
- Valid Fall Protection, Standard First Aid, Aerial Work Platform safety certificates
- International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA CPS) Signal certification is an asset
